Usage
Call Recordings and Transcripts
- Once connected, Jump will record your Zoom meetings when you are the host. Note that if you are an attendee on a Zoom meeting but not the host of the Zoom meeting, Jump will not record the call.
- You can access each of your recorded Zoom meetings in your Jump account by navigating to “Conversations”
Attendee Matching
- To increase the accuracy of call transcripts and improve the accuracy of matching the attendees of your Zoom meeting to the transcript generated by Jump after each call, we highly recommend that you schedule your Zoom meetings using either the Zoom for Google Workspace Calendar integration or the Zoom for Outlook calendar integration.

- Click the Jump app.
- Click Remove.
What's New
We're excited to announce that Jump now supports Zoom Phone call recordings! If you use Zoom Phone for your business calls, you can now have those recordings automatically imported into Jump for transcription and analysis, just like your Zoom meetings.
Important: Reauthorization Required
This update requires you to reauthorize your Zoom connectionbecause we need permission to access your Zoom Phone recordings. This is a one-time process that takes less than a minute.
Why Reauthorization is Needed
We've added a new permission scope (`phone:read:call_recording`) that allows Jump to:
- Receive notifications when your Zoom Phone calls are recorded
- Download your call recordings for transcription
- Process your phone calls alongside your regular Zoom meetings
Your existing Zoom meeting integration will continue to work normally after reauthorization.
How to Reauthorize
- You'll see a notification in Jump asking you to reconnect your Zoom account
- Under the Integrations page Click "Connect" for Zoom.
- You'll be redirected to Zoom's authorization page
- Review and accept the permissions (you'll see the new "Read phone call recordings" permission)
- Click "Authorize"
- You'll be redirected back to Jump with your connection restored
How Zoom Phone Recording Works
Jump supports two ways to record your Zoom Phone calls:
Option 1: Manual Recording (Ad Hoc Recording)
This method gives you full control over which calls to record:
- During any Zoom Phone call, click the Record button on your Zoom Phone interface.
- The call will be recorded from that point forward
- When the call ends, Jump automatically receives and processes the recording
- Your recording appears in Jump within 2-3 minutes with full transcription
Setup Required: Your admin must ensure these settings are enabled:
- Account Management > Account Settings > Recording & Transcript > Record to Computer Files = ENABLED (Lock this setting to prevent changes)
- Account Management > Account Settings > Zoom Phone > Ad Hoc Call Recording = ENABLED
Note: This setting can be overwritten by the setting under Admin > Phone System Management > Users & Rooms > Your Users > Policy
Note: If Automatic Call Recording is enabled it will override any Ad_Hoc settings.
Option 2: Automatic Recording
Perfect for teams who want comprehensive call documentation without manual steps:
- All your Zoom Phone calls are automatically recorded (inbound and/or outbound based on your preferences)
- Jump receives and processes each recording after the call ends
- All recordings appear in Jump with full transcription
- No need to remember to click Record - it just works!
Setup Required:
(Share these steps with your companies Zoom Admin to enable them for your account):
- Navigate to: Admin > Phone System Management > Users & Rooms
- Find your user account and click your name
- Click the "Policy" tab
- Enable Automatic Call Recording
- Click “Access Member List”
- Click "Add User" and search for your name
- Ensure "Download" permission is checked when adding you
- Save the configuration
Important: This Policy setting will override any Account Settings for recording
Which Option Should I Choose?
- Manual/Ad Hoc Recording: Perfect if you want control over which calls are recorded
- Automatic Recording: Ideal if you want all calls recorded for compliance, training, or comprehensive record-keeping
Both options work seamlessly with Jump - choose what works best for your workflow!
What Stays the Same
- Your existing Zoom meeting recordings continue to work as before
- All your historical recordings remain accessible
- Your privacy and sharing preferences are maintained
- No changes to how regular Zoom meetings are processed
Benefits of This Update
- Unified Call Management: Access all your Zoom communications (meetings and phone calls) in one place
- Automatic Transcription: Phone calls are transcribed just like your meetings
- Better Insights: Search across both meetings and phone calls for important discussions
- Compliance: Maintain records of important phone conversations for compliance requirements
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between Ad Hoc and Automatic recording?
Ad Hoc recording (also called manual recording) means you click the Record button during calls you want to capture. Automatic recording means all your calls are recorded without any action needed from you. Both work great with Jump!
Can I switch between manual and automatic recording?
Yes, but this requires Zoom admin configuration. The setting that takes effect depends on your Policy configuration, which overrides Account Settings. Work with your admin to set up your preferred method. See steps above.
What if I’m getting errors with automatic recording?
The most common issue is not being properly added to the Policy tab in Phone System Management. Ensure your admin has followed all the steps in Option 2 above, especially adding you with "Download" permission enabled. OR try reconnecting your Zoom Integration.
Do I need my Jump admin to enable anything?
Yes, your Jump administrator needs to enable the Zoom Phone feature for your account. During the initial rollout, this is controlled by a feature flag that must be enabled for your entire account. If you don’t see Zoom Phone recordings working after reauthorization, contact your Jump admin to ensure the feature is enabled.
Can I disable Zoom Phone recording later?
Yes, your Jump administrator can disable the Zoom Phone feature at any time through the account’s feature settings. This will stop new phone recordings from being processed while keeping your existing recordings available.
